It's about more than just glasses and contact lenses!
At Elite Vision Consultants, we take pride in our comprehensive vision and eye health evaluations. Through state-of-the art computerized testing, and careful examination by our doctors, we assess our patients visual system and determine what type of visual correction is best recommended for each individual patient. Visual correction may include glasses, contacts, laser vision correction, or corneal refractive therapy.
Further evaluation continues with what Elite Vision Consultants feels to be the most important part of the examination, the eye health evaluation. Glaucoma testing, dilated fundus examination, and diagnostic retinal imaging is performed to evaluate the health of the eye. Common systemic conditions detected on a routine eye exam include:
High Blood Pressure
Neurological diseases that include MS and brain tumors
Autoimmune diseases that include Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Sjogren’s Syndrome
Our doctors are the primary gatekeepers for many of their patients, and work very closely with area physicians and sub-specialists to ensure complete care for all patients.
Elite Vision Consultants is one of only a few offices in Northwest Indiana to offer scleral contact lens technology. Scleral lenses are large-diameter rigid gas permeable lenses that can be used in patients with a variety of ocular conditions such as keratoconus, dry eye syndrome, and post-surgical cases. These types of corneal irregularities provide highly irregular vision and scleral lenses are used to mask this irregularity and allow for clearer vision by providing a smooth front surface through which light can enter the eye. Patients with conditions that affect the tear film, and patients with refractive error (nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism) who are unable to wear other forms of correction could also benefit from scleral lenses. If you feel you could benefit from this new technology, please call our office for more information.
Would you like to be free of your glasses and contacts during waking hours?
Would you like to achieve this without surgery?
You now have a choice! Corneal Refractive Therapy or CRT is a technologically advanced, non-invasive, non-surgical process which reshapes the cornea while you sleep. Patients who are candidates wear a uniquely designed oxygen permeable contact lens while sleeping and remove the lens upon waking. During the day patients enjoy the benefits of clear vision without correction. That’s right--clear vision without glasses or daytime contact lenses!
Corneal Refractive Therapy is ideal for contact lens intolerant dry eye patients, athletic teens, swimmers, and children with rapidly changing eyeglass prescriptions. CRT is completely reversible and best of all there are no age restrictions for CRT which makes it an ideal option for children and growing teens. If this sounds too good to be true, please contact us and schedule your CRT evaluation today!
